A magnitude 16.0 supernova, 2010gz, was discovered by M. Tsuboi (Japan) on the 16th August, 2010, in the galaxy NGC 599 in the constellation Cetus.
The supernova is located 39.6" West and 6.7" North from the center of the galaxy.
As yet the Type is unknown.

Position (2000): RA 01 32 51.07, Dec -12°11'21.5"
