This sequence of photos were taken on 2012-08-10 from Dunakeszi, Hungary. I went out to the sport airport of the city and expected some Perseid meteors to be spotted and taken with my camera but unfortunately I had to go home without Fireball.

The Perseids are one of the best meteor showers to observe, producing up to 60-100 meteors per hour at their peak. 
Maximum is predicted for 17:00 UT, 12th August, 2012.
The stream is active from the 17th July to the 24th August.

Velocity: 60.4km/s

The Radiant is in the constellation Cassiopeia; RA=3.2h/48°  Dec=58.0° (J2000)

Tips for best viewing of Perseid meteor shower's peak

Get out your thermos and sleeping bag, this year's Perseid meteor shower will peak Saturday night into Sunday morning. It's already "looking very good," in the words of Bill Cooke, who tracks meteors for NASA at Marshall Space Flight Centre in Huntsville, Ala.

Hear the death wail of a meteor as it burns up in our atmosphere

You can't hear a meteor as it burns up in the atmosphere, but you can bounce radar off of it and convert that signal into sound. The U.S. Air Force Space Surveillance Radar in Texas tried this during the Perseid meteor shower, and the resulting recording sounds appropriately alien.
