A Soyuz capsule carrying a Russian-American crew touched down on target in Kazakhstan on Friday after a descent from the international space station, safely delivering the first two men to follow their fathers into space.
The Soyuz TMA-12 capsule landed at 9:37 a.m. Friday (11:37 p.m. ET Thursday) about 90 kilometres north of Arkalyk in north-central Kazakhstan, Russian Mission Control spokesman Valery Lyndin told The Associated Press.

The Soyuz spacecraft, manned by two Russian cosmonauts and a Korean, has automatically docked with the International Space Station.
The station's and capsule's crews are just about to open up the air locks.

In her historic mission to space, Korea's first astronaut Yi So-yeon is accompanied by two Russian pilots Sergey Volkov and Oleg Kononenko as well as a swarm of 1,000 fruit flies.
The flies are part of experimental materials Yi is carrying with her to the International Space Station (ISS). She is scheduled to perform 18 scientific experiments in the zero-gravity environment once the Soyuz spacecraft safely docks at the ISS on Thursday.
