Bulusan Volcano erupts anew, residents and aircraft warned

Bulusan, an active volcano in the eastern Philippine province of Sorsogon, erupted again Monday.
The volcano spewed a dirty-white grayish ash plume from a vent on its eastern slope at 7:36 a.m., said the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).

A volcano erupted Monday in central Philippines with ash reaching as high as two km, authorities said.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHILVOCS) said a deafening noise was reported at 9.15 a.m.

Mt. Bulusan spews ash anew

Restive Bulusan Volcano in Sorsogon acted up again onTuesday, spewing ash in a predawn explosion before dawn, state volcanologists said.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Philvolcs) said the quake occurred at 2:58 a.m., accompanied by a rumbling sound audible at Monbon village in Irosin town.

Six volcanic earthquakes have been recorded in the last 24 hours around restive Mount Bulusan in Bicol, Philippine volcanologists said.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) on Tuesday said the quakes occurred after Taal Volcano in Batangas and Mayon Volcano in Albay showed signs of activity last weekend.

At least 11 volcanic quakes, one of them explosive, were recorded around restive Bulusan Volcano in Sorsogon in the last 24 hours.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said in its 8 a.m. Saturday update "one of the 11 quakes was explosion-type that was recorded at 7:27 p.m. Friday and lasted for 11 minutes."

Residents flee as volcano erupts in the Philippines

Up to 1,000 people have been evacuated from their homes after a volcano erupted in the Philippines.
Mount Bulusan, in the south-east of the country, is spewing clouds of ash into the sky. The volcano suddenly became active on 6 November after it released a jet of ash approximately 600m high.

Thousands flee from ash eruption at Philippine volcano

Thousands of people fled their homes following an ash eruption from an active volcano in the eastern Philippines Sunday, civil defence officials said.
Bulusan Volcano in Sorsogon province, 250 kilometres south-east of Manila, emitted a column of steam and ash 2 kilometres above its crater rim in the early morning.

Restive Mt. Bulusan in Sorsogon spewed another cloud of ash on Monday, reaching about 700 meters above the crater's summit.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded 28 volcanic earthquakes during the past 24 hours. It also expects more explosions in the coming days.

More quakes recorded at Bulusan

After an ash explosion last Saturday, more volcanic earthquakes were recorded in Mt. Bulusan in Sorsogon today, but the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said there is no imminent threat of a major eruption.
A total of 10 volcanic earthquakes were detected by Phivolcs during the past 24 hours, higher than the four recorded on Saturday, Phivolcs director Renato Solidum said.

Officials on Tuesday ordered the evacuation of residents near Mount Bulusan as heavy rains triggered lahar flow from the volcano.
Henry Imperial, senior science research assistant of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), said barangays Cogon and Monbon in Irosin town are affected by the lahar flow. He said the lahar was only flowing to river channels.
