SUPERNOVA 2012aw IN M95 = PSN J10435372+1140177

Paolo Fagotti, Bastia Umbra, Italy, reports his discovery of a possible supernova (magnitude R = 15) near M95 = NGC 3351 on CCD images taken on Mar. 16.86 UT with a 0.5-m reflector (+ MX916 camera) at Porziano d'Assisi, Italy, the object measured to be located at R.A. = 10h43m53s.76, Decl. = +11d40'17".9 (equinox 2000.0 presumed).

Possible supernova in M95

A possible magnitude 13.0 supernova was discovered by J. Skvarc (Crni Vrh Observatory) on the 17th March, 2012, in the spiral galaxy Messier 95 (NGC 3351) in the constellation Leo.
The supernova is located 60" West and 115" South from the center of the galaxy.
As yet they type is unknown.

Position (J2000):     R.A. 10 43 53.72  |  Dec. +11° 40' 17.7''
