Indonesia has issued a local tsunami alert after a 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck near the province of Aceh.
The quake struck offshore, 214km south-east of the provincial capital of Banda Aceh, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said.

A tsunami alert has been issued after an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 hit the Indonesian island of Sumatra.
The quake's epicentre was 204km northwest of Sibolga on Sumatra's coast, at a depth of nearly 48km, the US Geological Survey said.
