Why should I register?
Joining up guarantees citizenship.
In order to fully use the information on this site, you are  urged to log in.
You need to be registered  member. Registration is free.

Logging  in allows you to:

    * Post new threads
    * Reply to other peoples' threads
    * Edit your posts

    * Receive email notification of replies to posts and threads you specify
    * Send private messages to other members
    * Enter events into the forum calendar (+ Permission required)

To register, you will need to give  a username and password, and a valid email address.
Entering your email address will not leave you open to 'spam', as you can choose to hide your email address.
If you are under the age of 13,  the site operators  may require that a parent or guardian provides consent before allowing you to complete the registration process.

Once registered, you should keep the information in your profile up-to-date. In case of problems, you should  ensure that your email address is kept current. You can alter any of the fields in your profile, except your username.

Can I search this site?
One of the most powerful features is that you can search for posts based on username, word(s) in the post or just in the subject, by date, and in only select subforums.
To access the search feature, click on the "search" link at the top of  the main page.
The tag feature is also handy tool to find related articles.

Can i send Private Messages?
Registered members may send each other private messages.
Private messages  are a bit like email, but are limited to only other members of this forum.
You can send a private message to a member of this forum by clicking the 'Send A Private Message' link in the private messaging section of your user control panel, or by clicking the Send Private Message button in a member's posts.

What is the Users List?
The member list is a complete list of  registered members on this forum. You can view the member list ordered alphabetically by username, by the date that the member joined the forum, or by the number of posts the members have made. (Currently disabled)

How do I use the calendar?
The calendar functions in a way similar to the forums. The calendar can hold  events that you are able to  click on,  or link from. They can be used as a reminder  of upcoming events.

Why the Forum News announcements?
The Forum News are special messages posted by the site administrator or moderators. They are designed to be a simple one-way communication with the users.
Once read they can be closed. If you wish to discuss the announcements, you will have to create a new thread in the forum, since you cannot reply to announcements.

How do I rate a thread?
You may find a small menu on thread pages which allows you to 'rate this thread' with a number between 1-5.
Voting for threads is entirely optional.

Are there thread display options?
Yes. When viewing a sub forum, you will be able to view the threads from a  list of choices located at the bottom of the  page.
When viewing a thread, you will be able to view the posts listed as Oldest First  or Newest First. This will display the posts in that ordered  way.

Is there an RSS feed?

This site has  RSS syndication. (look for a  small orange  block at the bottom of the main page)
RSS allows you to view newly created threads in guest viewable forums without visiting the board.
The RSS feeds will not show the new threads on the members  forums
